[Ken writes:] “One simple message of the Bible is God’s love for man. The simplicity of “God is Love” runs through every Bible Lesson, and this week we see the impact of that Love in providing comfort, well-being and purpose in every situation presented. What a start we have in the Golden Text, the full verse 3 being as follows:

“For the Lord will comfort Zion by taking away her false captivity. With spiritual foundation and strength, she will find renewed inspiration, rising above the wasted ruins of the past. God will transform her wilderness into a flowering Eden, her desert full of beautiful blossoms; Joy and gladness will be found throughout. Thanksgiving will be a melody of constant rejoicing!” (Golden Text, Isaiah 51:3 Combined translations.)

The Golden Text continues:

On that mountain the Lord will destroy the veil of sadness that covers all peoples and nations. He will destroy the gloom that is spread over everyone, removing forever the heavy shroud of fear.. (Isaiah 25:7 Combined translations).

There is no future tense with God, for God is the eternal “I AM”, and what God decrees always “IS”. As it says in Revelation , “… there should be time no longer:” (Revelation 10:6 there)”.  Just as relevant is the statement “there should be error no more”. Reference to the last section (7) brings this clearly home:  “And I heard a strong and loud voice saying: “Now is come the science and knowledge of true health, salvation to all, the dominion of the kingdom of God, the power of His Christ made manifest, because all resistance to truth has been cast out and utterly destroyed.” (B Citation 21 Revelation 12:10 Combined translations)

The difference between Christian Science and material science (necromancy, mesmerism and hypnotism) is as fundamental as right against wrong. We have the knowledge of infinite Mind, – hence there is no other.

My poem “Now is Come Salvation” shows the utter destruction of all error and materiality. How important it is to “Stand porter at the door of thought” (S Citation 14) and stop the tiniest ingress of wrong thinking, for like any wedge it leaves the door ajar:

The serpent seemed tiny and barely noticed;
Caught my attention when it softly hissed.
And then spoke so sweetly, I just stood surprised.
It was so appealing. I felt hypnotised.

Whenever we feel the influence of hypnotic thinking, we can use our weapons of God (see Responsive Reading, 2 Corinthians 10:4, 5)) to immediately pull down false suggestions, knowing that even when these imaginations seem to grow the power of God is infinite and proves them nothing. “Expose and denounce the claims of evil and disease in all their forms, but realise no reality in them” (S Citation 15)  In Revelation the tiny serpent grows to a great red dragon, – but the size of nothing is ever all that it is. It has no existence, no reality. The dragon is defeated, seen for what it is, cast out, and no more!

In the now of salvation, there is no past.
No serpent, no dragon, their nothingness vast.
I live in God’s kingdom, Love governs each thought,
For God is All power, in Him truly wrought!

And we see this even more in the imagery of a great balloon that, like the serpent, appears to swell to enormous size. In my poem “The Balloon” it mesmerically tries to take over:

“The balloon was blown up to incredible size
It taught me a lesson that made me more wise.
Becoming quite fright’ning as it grew and grew,
I shrank from before its enveloping view.”

We can be so easily hypnotised by the tales and stories of matter, the fake news that seeks to inform, – but what is its source? When we know the source of anything we also know its justification, standard, relevance. Error has none.  We must know that right where evil seems to be rampant, right there God is ever present. Right now.

“The knowledge that evil was nothing to fear,
Was the tiny sharp pin that soon cleared the air.”

Faith as a grain of mustard seed is the same as the smallest knowledge of Truth, – it can blow away a mountain! The point of a needle is tiny, but how effective! The simple facts of Truth, however small they seem, can blow away any error. What a relief, what comfort, when the error is seen for what it is, and is proved to be the nothing that it is!

“Whenever we’re tempted to shrink with alarm
Let Truth be our strong point and God our right arm.”

Hypnotism would suggest another power besides God. Well, that’s just wrong, isn’t it! Our strength comes entirely from God, all the time. This is what Nehemiah so comprehensively proved.

When we give our full attention to God, as required by the Great Commandments, we experience the dominion of the kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of God, and find in that reflection of Love the falsity of error is proved, for it can touch us no more. Sickness can never affect Life. Error can never change the Truth. Hatred never touches Love.  We are held forever in the arms of Life, Truth, and Love divine. We are forever comforted. That is what God does and is.

The Golden Text refers to the comfort that God gives, and this gave strength and wisdom to Nehemiah. The poem “Comfort is thine” deals with the empty threat of mesmerism and hypnotism, for anything that would try to take away from, diminish, the Love God has to man is false, for no such influence exists. The poem looks at the comfort provided by Life, Truth and Love, each verse concluding, in turn:

Oh feel the health of Life Divine:
Life’s word of comfort: “Thou art Mine.”

Oh feel the sword of Truth Divine:
Truth’s word of comfort: “Thou art Mine.”

Oh feel the warmth of Love Divine:
Love’s word of comfort: “Thou art Mine.”

The impact on health is seen in Section 6 with Jesus’ healing of a man with the spirit of an unclean devil. Jesus speaks with authority and power, and proves for that individual God’s words: “Thou art Mine”.

The sword of Truth is seen throughout the story of Nehemiah. Truth puts error to the sword, it nullifies whatever error suggests, for all that error can suggest is wrong. Truth corrects error, and when we know the Truth, we know the nothingness of error. Herein is great comfort, for when the error is removed so is all fear, for it no longer has any basis. Truth takes its flaming sword to error of every kind. Knowing we have the sword of Truth gives us the power to denounce error in all its guises. The veil that would cover Truth is totally destroyed. That veil represents the sum total of all error, – totally gone! As Nehemiah said “..you have no portion, right, nor any part in our traditions, so you are nothing to us.” (B Citation 10, Nehemiah 2:20,combined translation).  The threat of the enemy was nullified, Jerusalem (home, heaven) was built.

And embracing ALL is the warmth of Love divine ; “Clad in the panoply of Love, human hatred cannot reach you” (S citation 19 571:15). For human hatred, read ancient and modern necromancy, alia mesmerism and hypnotism. Utterly denounced!

WE ARE GOD’S, AND NOTHING ELSE EXISTS THAT HAS ANY OTHER CLAIM UPON US. THE VEIL HAS BEEN LIFTED, AND WE ARE UNITED IN PEACE, FOREVER AT ONE WITH GOD.
