This week’s lesson is quite blunt in its message: if you believe in atomic force, you’re daft! That’s blunt, to put it mildly! But God, infinite Truth, only knows Itself, and not only is there nothing material in infinite Spirit, there isn’t an atom of Truth in the suggestion of anything else! As the reflection of Truth, we cannot believe or even know a lie. What believes a lie is itself a lie….
The first citation this week from Science and Health, the key to the Scriptures, is very much the multum in parvum of life:
“The starting-point of divine Science is that God, Spirit, is All-in-all, and that there is no other might nor Mind, — that God is Love, and therefore He is divine Principle.
To grasp the reality and order of being in its Science, you must begin by reckoning God as the divine Principle of all that really is.” (S cit. 1 p. 275:6–12)
The marginal heading for lines 6-9 is “SPIRIT THE STARTING POINT” (my capitals). Herein is wisdom, our oneness with God. We can only start with God because God is all there is.
GOLDEN TEXT
1 Corinthians 3:18 Don’t be a fool and think that by following the standards of this world you can be wise, for true wisdom is only of God, never of the world. You must reject the world, which would seem foolish to some, to find what is true. That is wisdom!
1 Corinthians 3:19 God sees the wisdom of this world for what it is, – irrelevant! It is impossible to outsmart God: that shows that those that try are themselves clearly fools!
RESPONSIVE READING.
Romans 11:33 Who can ever measure the fantastic wealth and deep wisdom of God? Who can understand and explain what He decides and does, He who knows everything?!
Romans 11:36 For all things, without exception, originate with Him and come from Him; all things, without exception, live through Him, and all things begin, live and end in Him. To Him be glory forever! Amen
1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received this Spirit, which is of God and not of the world, for it is only by His Spirit that we can ever know what God has freely and so lavishly given us.
1 Corinthians 2:13 When we speak , we speak as taught to us by God’s Holy Spirit, not by so-called human wisdom. And it is this same Spirit that helps us clearly explain to those that are listening that all is indeed spiritual.
EXTRA 1 Corinthians 02:14 He who is not spiritual will never know, – it can only be foolishness to him, for he is looking the wrong way. (see last poem)
- Click “GOD CREATED ME” a shared Christian Science Journal link that makes it very clear that we are formed by Spirit and not matter, – there are no atoms in our structure!
“I am even now as God sees me,
No less and no more,
Perfectly pure.
Within the All-in-all:”
The All-in-all is spiritual. S cit.11 p123:12 makes it clear:
“12 Divine Science, rising above physical theories, excludes matter,
resolves things into thoughts, and replaces the objects of
15 material sense with spiritual ideas.”
Note again the marginal heading, – which is wise to follow, seeming or being?
“The unfettered glory of God
Illumines my life, illumines all.
I shine with God’s love,
…..Forever.”
This is true being! We are spiritual ideas, untouched by atomic so called force. God’s love is the only force, the only shine, in which is no darkness. This is what the wise Jesus taught.
- Click “FOLLOW ME” a revised poem that shows the importance of what is our underlying motive, – entrapped by matter or set free by following the Christ?
“I cast an unconditional net of Love, which gathers all.
It returns full, no break, no flaw, But overflowing with gratitude,”
Without first casting the net, there is nothing to haul in. The mindset is no longer on what the material provides, but what the spiritual gives. When we put God first, we fulfil the requirements of seeing the activity and authority of Principle guiding everything we do:
“I am God’s purpose: performing His will.
My life is of God, my net always full.”
WHICH NET ARE WE HOLDING, SEEKING TO USE?
- Click “BELOVED SON: THY SON LIVETH” This poem looks at the baptism of Jesus, and the healing of the nobleman’s son. They are related, for the baptism of Jesus was a recognition of immersion in the spiritual, recognition of spiritual Sonship. In the Spirit there is no time barrier:
“For what God made could only be fulfilled in perfect man,
And Jesus was the perfect proof of God’s so perfect plan.”
The words Jesus spoke are so powerful: “Go thy way, thy son liveth.” Given with the complete authority of knowing what is true and what is a lie. Just like saying “There is nothing to heal.” The nobleman agreed to go his way, to accept the spiritual truth, and so must we, God’s way, every day!
“This nobleman, he understood, and knew that man expressed
What God created: perfect man. Beloved and ever blessed!”
No atomic force here. Indeed, no force anywhere; God doesn’t do force! He is. HOW PREPARED ARE WE TO JUST ACCEPT THE TRUTH OF PERFECTION, AND LET THAT SHINE THROUGH ALL WE DO ?
- Click “PAUL PROVES OUR FREEDOM” We had this poem last week, and with Paul’s experiences suggesting there was a negative force against him, his calm assurances, resting on the Truth of being, led him to save other people as well as himself. He became a true follower, casting his net of love wherever he went.
“His father ill, Paul for him prayed,
And on his brow his hands he laid:
His healing was yet one more proof
That all Paul said was of the truth!”
We too need the confidence to stick with God, the truth of being, to recognise that God is our life, not atomic force, the former eternal, the latter temporal.
- Click “REJECT, REPLACE, REJOICE!” a poem that makes clear we should reject what is not true (atomic force), what takes us in the wrong direction:
And here is more advice for us:
Don’t get on the wrong way bus!
The route you choose will take you there,
So make your choice with greatest care!
When we replace the foolish with the wise, then we can freely rejoice!
With GRATITUDE just fill your heart!
And so REJOICE IN FRESH NEW START,
For then is victory truly won:
KNOW GOD AND MAN: IMMORTAL, ONE.
WE ARE GOVERNED BY THE ONE MIND, NOT BY THE VAGARIES OF ATOMIC FORCE. JUST AS THERE IS NO DARKNESS IN LIGHT, SO THERE ARE NO ATOMS IN SPIRIT, NO OTHER FORCE THAN GOOD, THE BREATH OF SPIRIT.
GOD AND MAN, NEVER EVOLVED, BUT ALWAYS UNITED AS “I AM THAT I AM”. I AM HAS ALWAYS EXISTED, FOR “NOW” IS EVER PRESENT, AND ALWAYS WILL BE.
NOW IS COME SALVATION, NOW IS OUR PERFECTION.
