This lesson about probation after death used to quietly frighten me. It seemed like a pretty hefty subject, and both probation and death sounded pretty scary. Well, this lesson is a perfect way to handle those fears well be discovering how everything is for the glory of God, ever-present good. God, deathless Life, has no obstacles to His expression, and man can never be stopped from having these opportunities to ascertain [T]ruth This probation isnt a punishment, its a blessing. You may also really enjoy reading the interview with Diane Marrapodi, CSB in the May 2011 Christian Science Journal; the permanence of Life is a keynote in that interview and in this weeks Lesson.

This weeks Bible Lesson shows us that a victory over materiality and death in all its forms can be ours right here and now! Jesus triumphed over every limitation or claim of matter. He even overcame death through his resurrection and ascension! He sure didnt allow himself to be bullied by the materiality of the Pharisees and Sadducees (this is National Bullying Prevention Awareness Week in the United States). This lesson shows us ways to keep materiality from bullying us and others. We can rejoice that we are fully spiritual right now, the beloved and perfect daughters and sons of God — just as Jesus was! And Jesus loved mankind enough not to just standby [while our spiritual joy is abused] but to show us the way [to progress more and more unto the perfect day (GT)]. We get to follow his example and demonstrate each moment God, Spirits, allness and perfection and goodness and nothing can get in our way (we cant be bullied)!

This weeks Bible Lesson teaches us that when we stick with the one Cause, God, we will have all things good, health-giving, and harmonious. The most successful method used by professionals whose job it is to detect counterfeit money and stop counterfeiters is to study the real [so attentively that they know it by heart,] so that they can easily spot the counterfeit, or error, [and so not fall for the unreal or unlikeness]. As we abide in that consciousness, studying reality thoroughly [as in last weeks lesson]–not allowing anything else into our door of thought (S&H p. 392)–we keep out the [unlikeness or] unreality of discord and human suffering. Obeying the first commandment Thou shalt have no other gods before me serves as our protection, our health-giver, our source of supply and purpose. The article entitled One Cause and Effect in Miscellaneous Writings [p. 21-30] is a good one for more ideas on this weeks lesson.
