Accept Christ and Unfallen Man — and your universal Health Benefits coming w/ that I.D.! Our prayers are effective because they bring us into alignment with God’s grace. It’s God’s grace that heals us. His grace is the healing power. When you feel low, like you have been stepped on, you have a choice. If you don’t feel like you have a choice, alarms should be going off reminding of your right and dominion to choose. As God’s reflection, you can’t fall from grace. [and the universal Health Benefits coming from carding your I.D. card as reflection!]
Some emphasize using Christian Science to achieve healing. Mary Baker Eddy never talks about using Christian Science. Her emphasis is on unfoldment and spiritual understanding. [Christian Science presents unfoldment, not accretion; Spiritually to understand that there is but one creator, God, unfolds all creation, confirms the Scriptures, brings the sweet assurance of no parting, no pain, and of man deathless and perfect and eternal. S&H 68:27] Unfoldment is understanding your present spiritual perfection as your very being. That state of being doesnt require effort, but is the God-manifested actuality of your existence. This state of being is divine Minds concept of its own nature, so it is your very own nature. Simply put, it is what God perpetually sees, feels, and knows. This state of being does not and cannot include sin, disease or death. [These are not states of being, only mis-statements of being. See Section 2.]
The Christian Science Bible Lesson [and the new TMCYouth Question of the week about it] are great discovery tools to help you discover the substance of your being. To God, without trying to change, you are what you need to be. God knows nothing else. This true nature of Gods universe is unfolding to you today.
This week we are going to break through the dream of self selfishness, self-love, self-hatred, self-focus. There is only one true Self or Soul.
We will see how God is pleased with His/Her whole creation, and so is pleased with you.
Jesus and his followers that they lived and worshipped in 1st century Greco-Roman times. In the 6th section of this weeks Bible Lesson, there is a quote that is a good focus for studying the whole lesson. First in the list of Christian duties, [Jesus] taught his followers the healing power of Truth and Love. He attached no importance to dead ceremonies. It is the living Christ, the practical Truth, which makes Jesus the resurrection and the life to all who follow him in deed. It reminds you that to follow Jesus you must dig deep and follow him.
If something isn’t real, it isn’t worth a thing. It doesnt have any substance.
[*Knowing this heals substance abuse and is a good start on how to pray about struggles with addiction –The Question of the week found on spirituality.com. See the Scientific Statement of Being for a full and profound answer. (S-26, S&H 468:9)]
Golden Text:
Put your treasures in heaven so they will not be snatched away from you. Where you put the desires of your heart is where the substance of your heart is.
[Since heart disease is said to be the number one killer, finding in heaven the hearts desires and most precious treasures can be the number one healer and restorer to full life.]
Do you know what day it is? It’s God’s day. God has responsibility for the whole day. (You get the day off from worrying.) Spirit is like a beautiful summer day that never ends. How great is that?
One thing we learn from studying the Bible is that things are not always as they seem. Because this lesson recaps the end of Jesus career, it can seem sad. However, the story doesnt end there. Jesus comes back. He meets his followers on the shore of the Sea of Galilee and urges them to be healers. He urges them to spread the wonderful news that he is Gods Son who came to unite us with the Father. He urges us to share this healing message.
We’re going to reflect on how great our God is. Truly He is great. He saves. His wings cover us and shield us from harm. He watches over us and protects us. He uncovers evil and destroys it. This week, watch out for the words save, salvation, restore, free, freedom, guarded and deliver. And, look for opportunities to yield, to witness God’s saving power, to be a peacemaker and to “love more for every hate.” Read this week’s Bible lesson, digest it, live it and be transformed.
This Bible lesson is about fruit. Yes, fruit. Fruit is symbolic of the good or bad results of an action or life. Fruit is not loosely attached to a tree, but is part of it. It derives its character from the tree on which it grows. So a mans works i.e. his words and actions, are part of him, and express his true character. (Dummelows Bible Commentary)
[Proverbs 31 (B14) expresses the true character of your human mother and mine and so would make a great Mothers Day card –extolling the glorious virtues that spring from our divine family tree as stated in the first chapter of Genesis. (S&H #3) But our heavenly heritage should be celebrated daily, not just on the upcoming Mothers Day Sunday. If we WERE mortal descendants of Adam and Eves family tree (and we are NOT!), we would have to eat the bad fruits of that tree–including all the ills (or Eve-ills) of the flesh, such as a pandemic plaque that is so greatly feared these days. From a recent podcat of a chat with Mark Swinney, C.S.B., you can hear how to refuse to buy into or experience the bad fruit of a supposed swine flu epidemic.]
