DO NOT PASS UP THIS LESSON! Yes, it has eight sections and perhaps numerous creatures from Revelation you have not thought about or know, however, let us explore their meanings. We are going to listen for revelations and inspired thoughts that will unfold to us as we progress. We each will get individual revelations that apply to our own individual needs and experiences. This is the way it is supposed to be, our need being met right where we are in our own spiritual unfoldment.

Many of the Bible citations in this Weeks Bible Lesson are from Revelation. I do NOT claim to be a Bible scholar and was very grateful to have Edyth Armstrong Hoyts book, Studies in the Apocalypse of John of Patmos, A non-interpretative and literary approach to the Last Book of the English Bible, in my library. There may be many wonderful books to help with Revelation, however, I do not have access to them right now. You can expand from your own study and may come up with wonderful thoughts and perhaps articles for spirituality.com or The Christian Science Sentinel.

Hoyt explains the apocalyptic form of writing in Revelation. Apocalyptic was written only in times of persecution to give courage to those persecuted and hope of the imminent appearance of the kingdom of God. Apocalyptic was always written in code, that is, it was a secret literature that could be understood only by those who understood the code. This shows how very wrong it is to try to understand it literally. It has no literal meaning….the chief decoding book for Johns Apocalypse is our Old Testament. (p. 1&2)

Perhaps we are facing situations that have caused us to be confused and have upheavals in our experience. Maybe our upheavals are economic, or have to do with our jobs or with relationships. Or maybe our health seems threatened or we face other unsettling situations. This weeks Bible lesson assures us we have the answer to the various threats in our life. Lets examine the parts of Revelation used in this weeks Bible Lesson.

There are seven visions in the book of Revelation and this weeks lesson deals with some verses from the seven visions: introduction; vision 1; vision 2; vision 3 and vision 4. (In the chapter, the Apocalypse, in Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy quotes some from vision 4 and other parts.)

Hey, man, GET REAL! Has anyone ever said that to you or have you ever wanted to tell some one else to lay off the exaggeration, or embellishment, of a situation and just tell it like it is? I have. This weeks lesson is all about GETting REAL, checking out the light we see our world in; GETting REAL, opening our eyes about how we see things; GETting REAL concerning ourselves and others; GETting REAL, regarding health; GETting REAL, concerning how we maintain ourselves on a day to day basis; GETting REAL about the universe we live in. Lets get started on the lesson for this week. It is on REALITY.

Hey, you, yes, you, please dont put this lesson aside just because you dont understand the words in the subject of this weeks Bible Lesson or dont think this subject could help you. I know, you like to feel the comfort that comes to you as you contemplate Gods love for you and everyone. Dont you feel so safe as you think about your relationship to God being the reflection of Gods goodness. You love to read and think about God causing, creating and preserving you. I do too. You have probably had some healings and direction from this study. I have. But does your thinking stay focused on Gods love and care for you and this universe all of the time? Are you able to feel like God is meeting your every need all of the time? Why not? Then this lesson is for you. We all need to study this lesson to make every day our happiest thanksgiving yet. It is important to understand why we need to debunk the junk, to denounce ancient and modern necromancy alias mesmerism and hypnotism.

Those are big, mysterious, confusing-looking words arent they? Maybe you dont want to take the time to research this ancient and modern necromancy. Mesmerism and hypnotism, well maybe you have heard something about them. So perhaps we can just leave this subject alone. STOP!! WRONG!! This way of thinking is just the way ancient and modern necromancy alias mesmerism and hypnotism works. All of those words are just another way of describing mortal mind and its junk its allurements, deceptions and beliefs. It would like to obscure itself, and to belittle, condemn, and/or confuse you, so you will just let it alone so that it can grow. Mortal mind [like the junk in your closet] wants nothing more that to be left alone. Now, Mrs. Eddy knew better than to just let mortal mind be left alone. She has a whole chapter in Science and Health named Animal Magnetism Unmasked. Mortal mind with its deceptive lies needs to be unmasked, identified, and denounced, denied, cast out of our thinking as unreal because not of God.

Jesus told his disciples to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers and cast out demons. This demand to cast out demons, doesnt it sound a little like denounce to you? It does to me. These demons are suggestions or beliefs, deceptions and lies that would like for you to think about yourself and others in mortal terms, seeking happiness, health, satisfaction, and self worth on material terms. Jesus cast out these claims with the Christ, Truth and restored the health of people.
