PSST Golden Text – What is the word of God? What does God’s word say? Where can we find evidence of God’s word?

PSST Responsive Reading – Pay attention to the various concepts connected to the word – calling, speaking, voice – why is this the opening of the lesson on Christian Science? What connection is there between Christian Science and these concepts of calling, speaking, voice, mouth?

PSST Section 1 – Is it a comfort to know that Christ is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow? What does that really mean? If it is a comfort to your students, why is that? If it is not comforting to them, what is their reason for resisting this idea? Does that same feeling translate to their understanding of Christian Science? What does it mean to say that creation is ever unfolding?

PSST Section 2 – Have your students heard the still small voice inside them? What was the experience like? What does it take for us to hear that still small voice? Why do we not define that still small voice as simply human instinct? What does it mean to listen to this utterance and go up higher?

PSST Section 3 – What is the definition of Christian Science? Mrs. Eddy offers one in this section. How would Jesus define Christian Science? What can this section offer to clarify or further develop the definition of Christian Science? Now, before stepping away from this exercise, how would your students’ lives be different if they lived as if the definition of Christian Science you just put together were absolutely true?

PSST Section 4 – Do your students ever write down their understanding of Christian Science? Do they keep a healing journal? Why are these exercises important?

PSST Section 5 – Have your students felt the spirit of Love, Christian Science? Have they felt the harshness/ coldness of the letter without the word? What is the difference? Why is it so important to have both the letter and the spirit? Are your students hearing the call each day to make higher proofs of Christian Science? What proofs are they manifesting in their own lives?

PSST Section 6 – Who is a Christian Scientist? How far and wide are your students’ nets cast? Do they welcome everyone and anyone into the fold? What does it take for this level of love to pervade our Sunday Schools and daily lives? How does this help us better understand Christian Science as a practical religion?
