PSST Golden Text:
What does Science & Health state about God as “omni”? Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Omniscient. What do these words mean? Is there anything outside of All?
Is there any place in the universe outside of the all presence of God?
Is there any power outside the all power of God? Is there any knowledge outside the all-knowing God?
Read together Hymn 10 from the Christian Science Hymnal (below).
Ask students to state phrases from this hymn that are reasons for rejoicing.

PSST Responsive Reading:
What is the prayer of Jabez in the Responsive Reading? What was God’s response to him? Who was Jabez? He was a well-respected man hinted at being in the line of the Kings of Judah, though none of his family is directly mentioned in the Bible. He was said to be an honorable man.
What is God’s commitment or promise to you in Isaiah 45:11 in the Responsive Reading? This is a great memory opportunity. Does this mean that one can ask God for stuff or things? Notice in the prayer of Jabez if one opens thought to spiritual meaning how might you interpret his requests? Enlarging my coast might not mean give me more land, but could mean allow me to be more caring for all that is around me, allow me to love more all who come within my purview.
Write your own view of what this prayer means.
How might you apply this prayer to your current experience? If you are a counselor at a summer camp, how might this prayer apply to your cabin or activities you are leading?

PSST Section 1:
What did God command in this section? Is God’s comment temporary or permanent?
How is the light God called forth defined in citation S-1? What is the nature of light? Can the light of God’s creating ever cease?
Ask students to write a prayer of a request to have more spiritual illumination (light) on an issue in their life, community, or our world.
Read together Hymn 304 from the Christian Science Hymnal (below). What are the statements of requests from God for spiritual illumination in this poem/hymn?

PSST Section 2:
As an inhabitant of the world, how in awe are you of God’s creation? (B3)
What are the statements of the long-term relationship God has with you in citation B-4?
You were his daily delight in citation B-4; are you still so? How awesome that God is delighted with you! How could She be otherwise?
How does S&H define evolution in citation S-7?
How does S&H define idea in citation S-9? What “peoples” the spiritual universe? (S-10) Where do you fit in the order of spiritual beings peopling the universe? (S-10) You are of the highest qualities of Mind!

PSST Section 3:
What was Jesus teaching in the cities and villages in citation B-6?
How did he validate his teaching about the Kingdom of heaven?
What is the scientific definition of Kingdom of Heaven in S&H 590:1?
Is this a scientific fact? (S-12)
Read together Hymn 203 from the Christian Science Hymnal (below).

PSST Section 4:
Read together citation B-9 (verse 27).
How did Jesus express God as refuge in citation B-10?
What other ways did Jesus express the nature of God as refuge in citation S-16?
What does it mean to reason from cause to effect, rather than to reason from effect to cause? (S-18) Read citation S-19. What spiritual forces are active in the universe, applicable to your prayers, and ever available to you?
Define adhesion, cohesion, and attraction as properties of Mind. What does equipoise mean? Balance and harmony in the universe is a spiritual law and you can rely on this law. If students are not familiar with the article, “God’s Law of Adjustment” by Adam Dickey, you might refer it to them for further study.

PSST Section 5:
Where in the New Testament in the Bible is the Isaiah passage in citation B-12 found? Luke 4:16-21. This is important because it proves the coming of Jesus and his works were prophesied in the Bible (the Old Testament).
Was Christian Science prophesied in the Bible? See John 14:16. See also Rev. 10:9 and S&H 559:16-31. See also S&H 55:27.

You are tributary to God (S-26) and are not evolved by any material means or methods. Where is the Spirit of the Lord? Where is the Spirit’s offspring? How long will you “enter into the holiest”?

PSST Section 6:
Read together Hymn 275 from the Christian Science Hymnal (below).
What is the message to this age from Divine Science? (S-30)
Count yourself and all ideas as spiritual forms formed by the Creator of the universe.

Hymn 10:

All power is given unto our Lord, On Him we place reliance; With truth from out His sacred word We bid our foes defiance. With Him we shall prevail, Whatever may assail; He is our shield and tower, Almighty is His power; His kingdom is forever.

Rejoice, ye people, praise His name, His care doth e’er surround us. His love to error’s thralldom came, And from its chains unbound us. Our Lord is God alone, No other power we own; No other voice we heed, No other help we need; His kingdom is forever.

O then give thanks to God on high, Who life to all is giving; The hosts of death before Him fly, In Him we all are living. Then let us know no fear, Our King is ever near; Our stay and fortress strong, Our strength, our hope, our song; His kingdom is forever.

Hymn 304:

Shepherd, show me how to go O’er the hillside steep, How to gather, how to sow,— How to feed Thy sheep; I will listen for Thy voice, Lest my footsteps stray; I will follow and rejoice All the rugged way.

Thou wilt bind the stubborn will, Wound the callous breast, Make self-righteousness be still, Break earth’s stupid rest. Strangers on a barren shore, Lab’ring long and lone, We would enter by the door, And Thou know’st Thine own;

So, when day grows dark and cold, Tear or triumph harms, Lead Thy lambkins to the fold, Take them in Thine arms; Feed the hungry, heal the heart, Till the morning’s beam; White as wool, ere they depart, Shepherd, wash them clean.

Hymn 203:

O Father, may we bear each hour The flag of hope and peace unfurled, And mirror forth Love’s sacred power To feed and bless a hungry world. We shall not falter by the way If we but place our trust in Thee, Obeying gladly day by day The living Truth that makes men free.

Help us to know that all is well E’en though we wander through earth’s shade, To know that all Thy children dwell Within Love’s stronghold unafraid. Teach us to follow fearlessly The way our gentle Master trod, ’Twill lead us safely home to Thee, O loving Father-Mother, God.

Hymn 275:

Praise now creative Mind, Maker of earth and heaven; Glory and power to Him belong, Joy of the sun and skies, Strength where the hills arise, So let us praise with joy and song.

Ages have seen His might, Father we call His name; Nights of our mourning and sorrow end, Light blesses opened eyes, Joys like the dawns arise As we see Him our God and Friend.

Saviour from death is He; Life is our heritage; Mercy and goodness forever guide; Ours is the risen Christ, Daily we keep our tryst, And evermore in Love confide.
