P.S.S.T. Golden Text – What does the Golden Text state without question as to who created the universe? On whose power did the Creator rely? Answer then the question, is there anything too hard for the Creator to do? In all the vast universe, is God/Creator still mindful of you? Are you significant to your Creator?

P.S.S.T. Responsive Reading – What are you specifically asked to remember in the Responsive Reading? Can you ever be made to forget this command? What else are you commanded to do in verse 14? Are you part of God’s handiwork?

Do you consider God powerful?

Therefore you are also powerful!

Do you consider God good and gracious?

Therefore you are also good and gracious?

Continue adding qualities of God and affirming they are also true for you.

P.S.S.T. Section 1 – Use citation B1 as an aid in listing qualities for the above request. What do you consider the word of God? Where can you find the word of God in the Ten Commandments, in the Beatitudes, in the works of Christ Jesus? Note places where he commanded certain actions and it was done. Stilling the storm, raising the dead, healing the sick, providing food to thousands. How do these actions indicate Jesus’ tapping into what he understood of the Creator and the handiwork created? Can there ever be an end to creation? Is God’s handiwork still visible and available to you? S6. Think in terms of how coordinated and balanced is the universe, therefore you are coordinated and balanced in all your thinking and actions.

P.S.S.T. Section 2 – Ask students to list actions taken by the Creator in citation B4. Read together citation B5. What does this passage indicate as a role for you? Is there anything you need and request that will not be granted? When considering the universe and creation, it is important to consider its true nature as spiritual, as things of Spirit (S12). What are some synonyms for Creator mentioned so far in this Lesson? Great, Lord, infinite, illimitable divinity, Mind, Holy One, powerful. Much of what has been stated about creation indicates God as the great communicator. Remember, He spake and it was done.

P.S.S.T. Section 3 – Was the healing of the man’s withered hand in citation B13 a miracle? Why or why not? See citation S16. Why was this healing natural? How did God create man? Perfect. Jesus’ knowing and acknowledging this truth, that is, relying on the word as forever powerful, restored the man to his rightful classification. What was that classification? Perfection permanently. Was Jesus changing deformed matter into improved matter? Or, was he acknowledging and demonstrating the harmony and balance between Spirit as Creator and spiritual creation? S17. Has the arm of the Lord been revealed to you? What was the result? S18.

P.S.S.T. Section 4 – What are aspects of a new song to sing in this section?

  • He hath done marvelous things
  • His holy arm hath gotten him the victory
  • See Thy power and glory
  • Take no thought for your life
  • These signs shall follow them that believe
  • Be perfect even as our Father in heaven is perfect

Read together Hymn 453 from the Christian Science Hymnal Supplement (below). How is this the word of God revealed with signs following?

P.S.S.T. Section 5 – Who is a strong and powerful God like our God? No one, no thing, no mind, no supposition? Read Science & Health 469:12-24. There is a good memorization passage in citation B21. Can God ever send forth anything less than perfection, wholeness, sound-mindedness, stability, harmony? How was the Psalmist’s statement in citation S23 applied in the Bible story in citation B20? [Warren: Click upper right downloads of CedarS online met for pictures from acting out a citation B20, walking-on-water skit (also downloadable) that was reenacted by almost 100 campers yesterday in CedarS Bible Lands Park.] If you were speaking with friends about this Bible story, how might you explain to them what happened? S27. What are some synonyms for the word “continuity”? Permanent, forever true and available.

P.S.S.T. Section 6 – How are you included and a part of the Psalmist’s statement in B23? You are a chosen generation, a peculiar people, as stated in I Peter 2:9. What are the summarizing statements for this lesson in citations S28 and S32? Read together Hymn 10 from the Christian Science Hymnal (below).

Hymn 453:

Rise up and walk, take up your bed. With these few words the sickness fled.

Stretch forth your hand. Receive your sight. Jesus’ commands reveal God’s might.

You are God’s purpose, His great design. Beautiful, blameless, His child divine.

Holding your thought to the good and the true, Spirit will form you anew.

REFRAIN Rise up and walk! God made you free, born of His liberty.

Carefree and strong, you are His song, perfect for all to see.

Mountains and seas, great rising trees, echo the joyous song:

Heaven is here, harmony’s bliss to everyone belongs.

Cleanse the lepers, heal the sick. Cast out demons. Raise the dead.

Truth is revealed in every place, Throughout all time, throughout all space.

Right in this moment, doing God’s will “These works shall you do, and greater still.”

Standing triumphant upon holy ground, Songs of the angels resound.

REFRAIN

Hymn 10:

All power is given unto our Lord, On Him we place reliance; With truth from out His sacred word We bid our foes defiance. With Him we shall prevail, Whatever may assail; He is our shield and tower, Almighty is His power; His kingdom is forever.

Rejoice, ye people, praise His name, His care doth e’er surround us. His love to error’s thralldom came, And from its chains unbound us. Our Lord is God alone, No other power we own; No other voice we heed, No other help we need; His kingdom is forever.

O then give thanks to God on high, Who life to all is giving; The hosts of death before Him fly, In Him we all are living. Then let us know no fear, Our King is ever near; Our stay and fortress strong, Our strength, our hope, our song; His kingdom is forever.
