Possible Sunday School Topics (PSSTs) for the GOLDEN TEXT

What is salvation? How do your students define it? Why do we want it?
What are we being saved from?  (Isaiah 12:2, 3)
How do we bring joy into our daily practice – of Christian Science, of school, friends, family, athletics?
Is joy a result, an expectation, or a choice?
Do we live out from joy? Or are we hopeful of it?

PSSTs for the RESPONSIVE READING (RR):

How does abundance spring from seeming lack? (Isa. 35)
Where does redemption come from?
What is the focus of our hearing and seeing? (Isa. 64:6)
What is the source of our hearing and seeing?
How does knowing this focus and source impact what we hear and see on a daily basis?

Possible Sunday School Topics (PSSTs) for Section 1:
How grateful are we for God’s goodness and love towards us?
How often do we express that gratitude?
What does it look like to express gratitude for/to God?
How does our soul seem like a desert land? How can we keep it watered – transform it into a spring? How far do the blessings of a spring reach? How far do the blessings of our watered thought reach?

Possible Sunday School Topics (PSSTs) for Section 2:
What is spiritual sense? (cit. S6, 505:20) What is understanding?
How do we grow in both of these? Why do we want to?
Are there any human requirements to developing spiritual sense or understanding? (cit. S9, 298:8) How does spiritual sense and discernment help us to know more about reality?

Possible Sunday School Topics (PSSTs) for Section 3:
Who in the story of Isaac and Abimelech in Genesis 26 who do your students most closely relate to? What lessons can we glean about our responsibility and opportunity from both characters?
What can we learn about God’s commitment to us?
What does Isaac do to demonstrate that the Lord is with him?
How do we ensure that God is with us in all that we do?

Possible Sunday School Topics (PSSTs) for Section 4:

What does it mean to forsake all?  (cit. B13, Luke 5:11)
What in our lives can we let go of?
What does it mean to follow Christ? How can we more closely follow Christ in our daily lives?
What will be the impact – what is the promise of this forsaking and following? How can we “depart from material sense” and enter “into the spiritual sense of being”?  (cit. S21, 41:6)

Possible Sunday School Topics (PSSTs) for Section 5:

What gifts do we receive from God, good?  (cit. B14, James 1:17
How do we prepare our thought for receiving these gifts?
How often do we receive gifts that we cannot see, or that we don’t view as gifts until later?
Are your students receptive to the gifts of Christ?
How can we ensure that we are open to what God has to share with us?

Possible Sunday School Topics (PSSTs) for Section 6:

What is the mind of Christ Jesus?  (cit. B18, Phil. 2:5)
Why does this sentence begin with the word “let”? (cit. S29, 208:20)
How does having this mind help us to see reality more clearly?
What will we see and understand when we allow Mind to direct our thoughts and actions?  (cit. S29, 208:20 and (cit. S31, 264:28))
Why does this entire lesson on Reality end with gratitude? (cit. B21, I Chron. 29:13)
