One of the key moments in my professional life as an auditor was when I asked the director of a large company a question about his stock valuation. I knew the answer, and he didn’t know I knew, and he, a director, lied to me. I suddenly saw in great clarity why I was an auditor, and the need to have auditors! I was required to attend, with our audit partner and manager, a board meeting of twenty doubting directors, and state what I had found. Because I knew it to be true, I was not nervous, and stood my ground/foundation. The correct figure was accepted. WHEN WE KNOW THE TRUTH, IT STANDS. WE CANNOT FEAR A LIE: WE HAVE THE FULL BACKING OF PRINCIPLE.

WHEN WE ARE AWAKE WE ARE NOT CAUGHT ASLEEP WITH THE DREAM!

How do we know we are awake? To whom are we now listening? Is it a lie and the father of lies, or ARE WE KNOWING THE TRUTH? Accepting/sleeping the Adam dream, or awake to the present glory of our being? The Golden Text is blunt, a wake-up call to the value of true listening. The Responsive Reading gives us the truth, many times!! Listen. What can we hear? What can we feel? The omnipresence, omnipotence, omniscience of All-good, NOW…

Job 33:14  God is always speaking in one way or another, – yet we do not listen properly, if at all, and fail to understand.

Job 38:4  Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me what you know about it!

Job 38:7  When the stars of the morning all broke out in happy song, in unison with My angels, all of them so joyfully shouting and praising.

Genesis 1:3     And God said, Let there be light; and there was light, the complete illumination of understanding throughout the universe.

Genesis 1:31     And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was so very good, and He gave it His complete approval, “MADE BY ME”. And there was evening and there was morning, for the sixth day. (The progressive understanding of ALL GOOD).

Mary Baker Eddy wrote to the church in Toronto: “Since the world was, men have not heard with the ear, neither hath the eye seen, what God hath prepared for them that wait upon Him and work righteousness.” (Miscellany, p. 184:4).  The last two lines of “Reach Out” are lines I have found easy to remember:

 “We all can banish every doubt,

By simply this: just reaching out.”

 Reaching out is actively listening, looking. It is not passive (being asleep?) but calls upon the demonstration and manifestation of what God sees, what we are. The declaration of good to the elder son in the parable of the prodigal son speaks to us all: “My son, you are always with me, every moment, and therefore everything I have is ever yours and always to hand.”  (Luke 15:31). The prodigal son thought the wealth of his father could be divided, but was made to recognise that infinite good, [Love], has no division. We all have access to what is infinite, here at hand. Are we listening and believing? Proving?

 ADAM AND FALLEN MAN IS THE DREAM OF LIMITATION. GOD IS SAYING TO EVERYONE OF US: “SON THOU ART EVER WITH ME” [AS MY CONSCIOUSNESS]. THIS IS THE TRUTH OF ABUNDANT “VERY GOOD”.
