Stop HANDCUFFING yourself with the crystalized limitation baked into “the lust of the flesh” (Mary Baker Eddy quoting Paul in Galatians 5:16, in the sentence right before citation S17/SH 223:2 below.

Paul said, “Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” Sooner or later we shall learn that the fetters (HAND-CUFFS) of man’s finite capacity are forged by the illusion that he lives in body instead of in Soul, in matter instead of in Spirit.” (citation S17, page 223:2 of Science and Health with KEY to the Scriptures, that unlocks every illusion that would limit man.)

[Warren:] “We would never want to play in any sport (or work in any meaningful endeavor) with ourselves handcuffed! (in fetters) And yet, when we view ourselves and others as merely material mortals, as beings in physical bodies, that’s exactly what we’re doing! We often unwittingly, yet eagerly, seem to volunteer to handcuff ourselves (and others) and thereby greatly limit our freedom of movement and our level of accomplishments, harmony and true happiness.

“But thanks to the KEY to the Scriptures and its “Scientific Statement of Being,” we can unlock our finite capacities and the hourly pressures of “TIME. Mortal measurements” (SH 595).  We can rejoice in precious, whole feeling the “gentle presence, peace and joy and power … (of) Life divine, that owns each waiting hour” (Hymn 208 by Mary Baker Eddy). We naturally and humbly express the infinite abilities and stress-free, unrestricted accomplishment of living as God’s “very good” (Genesis 1:31) “image and likeness!” (SH 468:14, Genesis 1:26)”

OBEY CHRIST’S COMMANDS AND BE WHOLE!
Cobbey Crisler on the withered hand healing in Mark 3:1-5 (citation B15)

[Cobbey:] “In Mark 3, Verse 1, we have a renewed definition for church where another healing occurs in the church context, namely, ‘the man that had the withered hand.’… According to an earlier, largely lost gospel called the Gospel of Hebrews, we find this man saying to Jesus, “I was a mason seeking a livelihood with my hands.  I pray thee, Jesus, to restore me my health that I may not beg meanly for my food.’  According to Luke 6:6, it was his right hand.  As a mason, you could not really pursue your craft.  If that is an authentic recollection, it just adds a little more enrichment to our comprehension of the story.  Again, it’s the Sabbath and we find that prayer is a church activity.  It would be hard to find someone that would disagree with that no matter what denomination one belongs to.  Healing would have to take place, because prayer is no idle exercise without results. Healing follows prayer…
Verse 3.  Jesus stops the order of service again.  He says to the man with the withered hand, ‘Stand forth.’ Would that electrify most congregational worship today?  ‘Stand forth.’  Everything stops.  The priority is here.
Verse 4.  Then he asks the question, ‘Is it lawful,’ is it a church rule, ‘to do good on the Sabbath days, or to do evil?’ Notice his definition of ‘doing-good’ here. He must not remain on the surface.  Doing-good for Jesus would be what?  Healing the man.  Doing-evil would be what? Not healing the man.  He regarded not-healing as evil.  The normality of the spiritual function of healing is underscored here…
Verse 5.  Then he says, ‘Stretch forth thine hand.’ Why didn’t he go and stretch it forth for him? Again, the consistency of having dominion. Dominion doesn’t exercise you, does it?  You exercise it… ‘Stretch forth thine hand and it was restored whole.’”

This stonemason no doubt could earn a living again using his hands.

Cobbey Crisler on Mark 3.1-5 (cit. B15): dominion method works from “Heal the Sick”
“Chapter 3 of Mark, Verse 1, the man with the withered hand.  It’s on the sabbath day again.  Jesus hadn’t checked his calendar.  Here it is in the middle of a service, the man with the withered hand.  [Verse 2:] they’re watching Jesus, almost like they hope he will break the sabbath rule, so they could accuse him of something.

Notice how he takes this early church-service-to-be.  [Verse 3:] “He says,” right in the middle of the service, in the middle of the synagogue, “to the man with the withered hand, Stand forth.”

So, he’s going to make an issue out of it.  Then, he turns to those around.  Notice, again, this is not an immediate healing.  He deals with the environment.  [Verse 4:]  “He says, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil?”  How about that being the basic law for what we do and where?  If it’s good, it’s according to the law.  If it’s evil, it isn’t, regardless of what man has legislated to the contrary.  “They didn’t answer him.”

[Verse 5:] It says, “he looked round about on them with anger.”   Only Mark used those things with reference to Jesus.  And “being grieved for the hardness of their hearts,” the blindness of what?  Of ecclesiasticism.  “He says to the man, Stretch forth thine hand.”  Did he go up to that man and say, [Speaker made sound of physically straightening out the man’s hand]  Did he do it himself, “Let me help you,” even though it was bent perpendicularly to his arm probably?

He says to that man to do what?  “You do it.”  Notice what his support of that man’s ability to do resulted in.  Suppose Jesus had gone up and done that to him, performed a surgical operation, in a sense, on that man’s arm?  It would have been depending on person and not God. …  That’s right.  Look at the great impersonal freedom, plus the dignity of the man in participating in his own healing.  Is it dominion if someone else does it for you?  It’s not your dominion.  It’s someone else’s.  Jesus told him to stretch forth his hand, the very thing he thought he couldn’t do.  He does, “restored whole as the other.”

We’re just sitting here as neophytes in the twentieth century reading the account of a method which worked.  If we are laboratory scientists at all, or oriented in that direction in our century, which we certainly should be in our technological age, the least we should do is to be willing to study the method and see if it works.”

WHOLEHEARTEDLY MAKE YOUR OWN THIS APPLICATION GEM!

WAKE-UP & CHANGE YOUR Genesis to “yield to the harmony of divine Mind.” (162) with “NO opposing element (My. 292, see P.S.)
Welcome to YOUR BODY the INVIGORATING & PURIFYING “
sunlight of Truth” (cit. S25/162)

CLAIM FOR YOURSELF: “Christian Science brings to the (my) body the sunlight of Truth, which invigorates and purifiesThe effect of this Science is to stir (rouse, wake up, budge, shift, revive) the (my) human mind to a change of base (basis, foundation, origin, heart, starting point, Genesis), on which it may yield to (concede to, give acknowledgement to, admit to, forfeit to, surrender to, hail to) the harmony of the divine Mind.” (S&H 162:4-5, 9, citation S25).

These sentences begin & end a paragraph I’ll always treasure because it helped save my life!!
That’s why I always share my gratitude for it whenever any part of it is in the Bible Lesson.  You can
read more online & BELOW about my 2008 healing of a large, cancerous growth thanks to a healing hymn sing and my in-depth,  follow-up applications of this full, powerful paragraph – word by specific, healing word:

“Christian Science brings to the body the sunlight of Truth, which invigorates (refreshes, revitalizes, stimulates, enlivens, energizes, animates, rejuvenates, strengthens) and purifies (cleanses, disinfects, sanitizes, decontaminates, filters).  Christian Science acts as an alterative (not ALTERNATIVE, BUT a medicinal plant that causes a gradual beneficial change in the body, usually through improved nutrition and elimination, without having any marked specific action OR A medicine or treatment which gradually induces a change, and restores healthy functions without sensible evacuations), neutralizing error with Truth.  It changes the secretions (emissions, discharges, oozings), expels humors (4 Medieval ones to be balanced: blood, yellow bile, phlegm, black bile), dissolves tumors (growths, cancers, lumps, swellings), relaxes rigid muscles (“thought-forces”), restores carious bones to soundness. The effect of this Science is to stir (rouse, wake up, budge, shift, revive) the human mind to a change of base (basis, foundation, origin, heart, starting point), on which it may yield to (concede to, give acknowledgement to, admit to, forfeit to, surrender to, hail to) the harmony of the divine Mind.” (S&H 162:9, citation S24).

P.S. “YIELD to the HARMONY of divine Mind” (162) with **“NO opposing element” (My. 292) and “so far above all mortal strife, or cruel creed, or earthborn taint, fill(ed)… today with all Thou art…” (Hymn 23)

**Mary Baker Eddy wrote: “My answer to the inquiry, “Why did Christians of every sect in the United States fail in their prayers to save the life of President McKinley,” is briefly this: Insufficient faith or spiritual understanding, and a compound of prayers in which one earnest, tender desire works unconsciously against the modus operandi of another, would prevent the result desired. …

“These conflicting states of the human mind, of trembling faith, hope, and of fear, evinced a lack of the absolute understanding of God’s omnipotence, and thus they prevented the power of absolute Truth from reassuring the mind and through the mind resuscitating the body of the patient.

“The divine power and poor human sense — yea, the spirit and the flesh — struggled, and to mortal sense the flesh prevailed. Had prayer so fervently offered possessed no opposing element, and President McKinley’s recovery been regarded as wholly contingent on the power of God, — on the power of divine Love to overrule the purposes of hate and the law of Spirit to control matter, — the result would have been scientific, and the patient would have recovered. …

“In a certain city the Master “did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief,” — because of the mental counteracting elements, the startled or the unrighteous contradicting minds of mortals. And if he were personally with us to-day, he would rebuke whatever accords not with a full faith and spiritual knowledge of God. He would mightily rebuke a single doubt of the ever-present power of divine Spirit to control all the conditions of man and the universe.”

TAKE A FULL DOSE OF THE GLADNESS OF BEING IN GOD’S PRESENCE–
YOUR BODY WILL GLOW WITH CONFIDENT PERFECTION!
Cobbey Crisler on Psalm 16:8, 9 +/cit. B16

Verse 8, “I have set the LORD always before me: because [he is] at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Verse 9, “My heart is glad,” and guess what else happened; what follows? “My flesh also shall dwell confidently.”   How does “flesh dwell confidently”?   That’s a mental state, but it’s been subdued by a mental state. “My heart is glad.” What medicine do we want more than anything else?   What leads us to a glad heart?

Then the flesh simply subsides as the significant bellwether as far as health is concerned.

What is the dosage of gladness in Verse 11?  “In thy presence [is] fullness of joy.” That’s the dosage, ‘fullness.” There’s no room left for anything else.

Someone asked me during intermission about a marauder of a disease called Tuberculosis.  The fact that there was a great emotionalism in that because it’s taking family members. In the spirit of our investigation of Scripture, going to it for the answers; perhaps this should apply to each and every one of us since we’re the ones to search the Scriptures. The Bible will not dwell on the problems of tuberculosis, but it will dwell on the solutions.  That’s what you want as far as any disease is concerned.  Since the problem of breathing is involved, to translate such a concept into terms appropriately employed in biblical therapy, we find out that that is one of the maximum treatments in the Bible

The Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit, the original meaning of both terms, ghost and spirit, being breath, you can tell it must mean that simply by studying all the references to the Holy Ghost.   You’ll find that people are filled with the Holy Ghost.  The only thing like that we can relate to anatomically is lungs.  What are we being filled with?  What does the pharmacy of the Bible indicate Is the cure for improper breathing or lungs?   If we can be filled, if we can take in, if we can inhale nothing but the atmosphere of God, we are getting pollutant-free environment. We are taking in purity. We can’t just inhale.  We must utilize that breath and send back out purity utilized. This is the sequence of breathing in its highest spiritual form when we run into it in the Bible. Perhaps, a good dose of searching the divine intent behind the term, the Holy Ghost, will translate that into our nature. The divine nature has no tubercular problems. The divine nature is the nature of solution to problems.”
