from the Christian Science Quarterly Bible Lesson on

“SPIRIT” for February 11, 2024
from Ken Cooper’s spreadsheet.

John 3:34                  He who God sent speaks what God directs, His very words. God has given the entirety of His Spirit, unlimited and free.

Numbers 11:29             And Moses replied “Do you think I should be jealous because they also prophecy beside me? Oh that God would make everyone of His people a prophet, His Spirit freely given and resting upon them all!

1 Corinthians 03:16    You must realize that you are the temple of God, and God Himself is present in you!

1 Corinthians 06:20    For you are dearly bought. Therefore glorify and honour God in both your body and in your spirit, for they belong to Him.

Galatians 5:22,23        But the fruit of the Spirit, – God’s presence within us, is unconditional love, overflowing joy, inner peace, enduring and productive patience, gentle kindness, goodness, a deep faith, meekness and self-control. Against all these no law exists, for God is their active source and guarantee.

Galatians 5:25              Since we have therefore chosen to live therefore by this energy of the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part, every detail, of our lives.

Isaiah 61:1                The Spirit of the Lord God has taken control of me to anoint and commission me to bring good news to the humble and afflicted; He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom to those held captive physically and spiritually, to release all those bound from their false imprisonment,

Isaiah 61:2                 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favour has come, the day our God will bring punishment to all evil that it may be gone forever. He has sent me to comfort all who are filled with sorrow.

Isaiah 61:3                To help the sadness of Jerusalem, I will give them a crown of flowers to replace their ashes, and the oil of gladness and joy to replace their mourning, clothes of praise to replace their heavy hearts. Then they will be called the Oaks of Righteousness, trees planted by the Lord to glorify His greatness.

Romans 8:16             The Spirit, God Himself, confirms our inward conviction that we really are His children, children of the one God, and His children alone. We are His witnesses.

Romans 8:17              Just think what that means! As His children we share His treasures by divine inheritance, and all that Christ claims as his belongs to all of us! If we share in his suffering we shall certainly also share in his glory.

Romans 8:19              For all of creation, yes, the entire universe, is waiting, yearning with bated breath, for the time when the true and entire perfection of being as the children of God, at one with God, will be revealed as a present truth.

Romans 8:28             We know and fully understand that God is governing every detail of our lives, that everything works together harmoniously to ensure we fulfil the good that He has planned, for our purpose is to express and reflect Him, to do what He wants (His will, not ours!)

Romans 12:1              Dear brethren, God is perfect goodness. So I beseech you that with God’s help you take your everyday life, whatever you may be doing, and place it before God as an offering, consecrated and acceptable to the Almighty, worthy of both Him and yourself.

Romans 12:2             Don’t let the world confine you into its material mould, its material way of thinking, but let God give you His INFINITE FREEDOM; follow what He alone can give you – all that is good, acceptable to Him. PROVE YOUR PERFECTION!

Romans 8:6             A mind focused on the flesh, ruled by our personal desires, is doomed to death, but a mind focused on the Spirit, the things of God, will find full life and perfect peace.

Romans 8:7              The mind that thinks only of ways to please the sinful self is always and only fighting against God. It is not able to obey God’s Laws. It never can.

Romans 8:9             But you are not living the life of the flesh, rather the full life of the Spirit, when the Spirit of God really dwells within you, governing everything you do. But if anyone does not possess the Spirit of God, he cannot truly be a child of God in what he does.

John 6:63                  It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh is useless, of no help whatever. It has no benefit to you at all.  The words, the truths, that I have spoken to you, they are spiritual and provide eternal life.

Galatians 6:8               If you follow the path of selfish desires, worldliness, ignoring the needs of others, you are sowing a life full of worthless cluttering weeds, but if you sow to the holy Spirit of God, you will harvest a rich crop of everlasting fruit, true happiness and fulfilment, and be together with God.

John 3:34                  He who God sent speaks what God directs, His very words. God has given him the entirety of His Spirit, unlimited and free.

Luke 4:14      Then Jesus went back to Galilee, upheld by the power of the Spirit, and the news about his return soon spread across the whole countryside.

Luke 4:15      And he taught in their synagogues, with everyone who heard him full of admiration and praise for all that he was doing.

Luke 4:18       The Lord has placed His Spirit within me, because he has appointed and designated me to proclaim the Gospel to the poor. He has sent me to tell the captives they are now free, to tell the blind that they can now see again, to set free and completely liberate those who have been oppressed and treated unfairly.

Luke 4:19       To proclaim to everyone that right now has this time come, that this is the very year, the time, of its fulfillment. Yes, believe me, the time is NOW!

Deuteronomy 6:4      Israel, remember this! Pay attention: The Lord—and the Lord alone—is our God,  and He is the only God there is! He is the ONE, (I AM THAT I AM).

Deuteronomy 6:5      And you must love God, your God, with your whole heart, your whole being, with all that you have, every moment.

Deuteronomy 6:6-7   And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart and soul: and tell them to your children, impressing them over and over again. Talk about them all the time, when you’re at home, walking along the road, going to bed at night, getting up in the morning, they must always be in your thoughts.

Acts 2:17       And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will freely pour out my Spirit on everyone; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams.

Acts 2:44       And all who believed and trusted and relied on Jesus Christ were united and they shared everything together;

Acts 2:46       Day after day they met together in the temple, continuing in one mind and purpose. They broke bread together in different homes and shared their food happily and freely, with singleness and sincerity of heart.

Bible verses are taken from my combined translations, a free copy of which is available on an excel spreadsheet for those who may be interested. The spreadsheet also includes a genealogy from Adam to Jesus, with related notes. Shared with love. Write to Ken on
