Ken Cooper’s “POETIC POSTLUDE” shares poetry inspired by Bible citations that celebrate WHAT WE SEE AND HEAR OF LOVE IN ACTION in this week’s Christian Science Quarterly Bible Lesson on:

“CHRISTIAN SCIENCE”
For Sunday, June 18, 2023

  • Click “LISTEN” for shared Christian Science Sentinel poem [The rustle of inspiration speaks: We share the freedom of infinity.]

“The vital part, the heart and Soul of Christian Science, is Love.” (SH Cit 25, 113:5-6).

Our expression of Love is the fulfillment of what we are, the Word made manifest in what we see, hear, and do.

The GOLDEN TEXT:

Isaiah 32:03    Then the eyes of those who see, those who I have created, will never be closed or dimmed, but will ever see, and the ears of those who hear, those who I have created, will always listen and clearly understand My Word.

RESPONSIVE READING

1 Corinthians 02:09      As the Scriptures say, no eye hath seen, nor ear heard, nor any heart imagined, the marvellous things that God has already made and keeps ready, for those that love and obey Him.

1 Corinthians 02:10    But God has, through His Spirit, revealed everything to us. For nothing is hidden from His Spirit, the deep wisdom of God available to us all.

1 Corinthians 02:12    Now we have received this Spirit, which is of God and not of the world, for it is only by His Spirit that we can ever know what God has freely and so lavishly given us.

1 Corinthians 02:13    The man who is spiritual has an insight into the meaning and existence of everything.

We are all spiritual. Love is the very essence of our nature, of everything.

In We Knew Mary Baker Eddy, Vol 2, Mary Eaton writes “Mrs. Eddy tried to impress us with loving more in giving treatments as she told us not to argue but to love.” and concludes “After my visits to Mrs. Eddy, on returning home I would try to remember how she looked, but all I could remember was love.” (pp.338-339).

LOVE is Christian Science in action.
